Position Summary

The Trainer- Employability and Soft Skills will play a vital role in equipping adolescent girls and young women in Cox's Bazar with the foundational skills required for success in the workforce. This position involves delivering interactive, gender-responsive training sessions focused on basic literacy and numeracy in Bangla, English, and Math. The Trainer will be responsible for conducting regular assessments, including pre-tests and post-tests, to track participants’ progress and learning outcomes.

The incumbent will facilitate engaging and inclusive learning experiences, support participants’ personal development, and contribute to building their confidence and readiness for employment. The role also requires close coordination with project staff, local stakeholders, and community members to ensure effective implementation and positive impact. Accurate and timely reporting of training activities and outcomes is an essential component of this role.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct Training Sessions

  • Organize and lead interactive training sessions on soft skills and basic education (Bangla, English, and Math).
  • Make sure the training is easy to understand and suitable for young women and girls.

2. Support Module Development

  • Help create and improve training modules and materials based on the needs of the participants.
  • Give feedback to make learning tools more effective, simple, and engaging.

3. Check Learning Progress

  • Give pre- tests before training and post- tests after training to see how much participants have learned.
  • Keep track of each participant's progress and find ways to help those who need extra support.

4. Work with Community and Partners

  • Talk to local schools, community leaders, and service providers to support training activities.
  • Join community events to raise awareness about the importance of soft skills and employability.

5. Keep Records and Share Updates

  • Keep clear records of training attendance, test results, and session reports.
  • Share regular updates with the project team about what's going well and what can be improved.

6. Work with the Team

  • Support other team members and attend planning meetings and training sessions.
  • Share your ideas to help improve the project and training delivery.

7. Safeguarding:

  • Uphold and promote the organization's safeguarding policies to ensure the safety, dignity, and well- being of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults engaged in our activities.
  • Immediately report any concerns, suspicions, or incidents of safeguarding breaches in line with the organization's reporting procedures.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and conduct that fosters a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 2- 3 years of experience in training or teaching, especially with adolescents or young women.
  • Experience in conducting soft skills, basic literacy and numeracy, or employability trainings.
  • Experience in developing or adapting training modules and materials in an easy and engaging way.
  • Experience working with communities, schools, or NGOs in field- level projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain concepts and actively listen to participants.
  • Strong facilitation skills to lead engaging and interactive training sessions that keep learners motivated.
  • Proficient in teaching basic Bangla, English, and Math using simple and effective methods.
  • Experience in developing and adapting training modules and learning materials to meet participants' needs.
  • Skilled in administering and evaluating pre- tests and post- tests to monitor learning progress.
  • Effective problem- solving abilities and a collaborative team player mindset.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for adolescent girls and young women.

  • Detail- oriented with strong problem- solving abilities.
  • Proactive and capable of handling multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to organizational goals.
